Salamander StrollAre your kids amazed by salamanders and other creatures they find outside? Then join Adventures with Alyssa Rose for a Salamander Stroll at Bullis Park to learn more about the sneaky species of salamanders that live all around us.  Start with a 0.5 mile hike through the forest talking about and looking for salamanders. At the end of the hike participants will make their way back down the path by playing Migrate Like a Mole Salamander, a living board game adaptation of The Great Migration Challenge from Project Wild. Finally, we will make a salamander themed craft or listen to a salamander story. Groups will depart from the back pavilion by the playground. Dates and times are listed below.Reserve your family’s spot today,  Hope to see you there!(Learn more about Alyssa Rose in her bio below!)More Program Information This program is recommended for children ages 4-12 Maximum group size is 10 registered children (not including family companion(s)) Cost is $15 per child and $5 per additional adult (one free adult is included per registered child) Children ages 3 and under are free as a family companion Children are required to have a parent present for the entire program One adult can claim responsibility for up to 5 children Adults will be required to complete a waiver prior to the hike for themselves and the children they claim responsibility for. This hike has an elevation gain of 16 feet. It has a steep hill at the beginning and wide steps at the end.  Closed toe shoes and weather appropriate clothing are recommended. Flip flops and other sandals will make the hike portion of the program very difficult for children and adults.  Parking, restrooms, and water fountains are available at the check in location.  If you have any non-registration related questions please email to adventureswithalyssarose@gmail.com.  Registration/Payment Information Every participating child must be registered on this website for one of the specific dates/times listed below. She enjoys exploring the forest, ponds, lakes, and streams of upstate New York. She earned a Bachelors of Arts in Teaching from St. Bonaventure University and went on to complete a Masters of Arts in Teaching the Biological Sciences from Miami University of Ohio, in affiliation with the Bronx Zoo. Over the past 10 years she has been a hike leader, naturalist, tour guide, summer camp teacher, and finally camp manager at the Genesee Country Village & Museum. After moving to Palmyra in 2020, she began substitute teaching, but missed leading hikes and sharing her knowledge of nature.
