COACHING HELP FOR BOYS 10+
All of our coaches are unpaid volunteers. Thankfully, this year we have at least one coach for each team prior to registration beginning.
HOWEVER, if you have soccer experience and would like to help coach your child's team, or know of someone else who may be interested in helping, please reach out to me directly via email

Indoor travel soccer is a competitive program that welcomes boys and girls from grades 3-11 to compete in tournaments throughout the winter season.
The season officially begins with weekly practices in mid-November and continues through at least March, possibly mid-April.
Tournament participation is voluntary BUT the $45 registration fee includes entry to our annual Pal-Mac Tournament which will be held this season on Saturday February 6th (girls) and Sunday February 7th (boys) at either the Pal-Mac Middle School or High School gym.
For the Pal-Mac Tourney: 3rd-5th grade teams start play in the Middle School gym starting in the morning, then the 6th-7th grade teams start play in the early afternoon. Similarly the 8th-9th grade teams play in the High School gym starting in the morning, and the 10th-1th grade teams start play in the early afternoon.
Additional tournaments cost extra, usually around ~$10-$15 per player. Information about additional tournaments will be made available once the various tournament organizers publish their dates/costs/information. This info will be provided to you either by the coach or by myself.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Each team has one weekly 90-minute practice scheduled at a either the Pal-Mac intermediate school in Macedon or the Pal-Mach Middle School gym in Palmyra.
This year practices may begin as early as the week of Monday November 9th HOWEVER the coach(es) of each team will confirm when practices actually begin so your teams start date may be later.
Practice dates, locations, and times are subject to change based on the availability of gym space. We try to keep a consistent day & location however that's not always possible due to school events (sports practices/games, school dances, etc.) and there are other community groups also using the gym space throughout the winter.
AS OF RIGHT NOW, these are practice details for each team.
GENERAL SEASON INFORMATION
- Tournaments take place between December and April, held at various schools and other locations in the Western NY/Finger Lakes area
- Tournaments are mostly on weekends and usually in gymnasiums, but sometimes on indoor turf fields, and are typically within an hour of Pal-Mac.
- Tournaments are set up with either age or grade restrictions which may sometimes necessitate teams to be formed from different practice groups.
- Ex 1: A 6th grade tournament can use 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade players, but not 7th
- Ex 2: An younger 8th grader who is still only 13 years old could play in a 13 & under age group with members of the regular 6th & 7th grade team.
- Some tournaments set max roster limits so the coach may have to choose from available players.
- Participation in tournaments incurs additional cost, beyond the program registration fee. Typically about $10-$15 per player per tournament.
- As noted above, entry to the annual Pal-Mac tournament (Sat 2/6 (girls) and Sun 2/7 (boys)) is already included in the $45 program registration fee.

OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES
- Soccer experience is NOT required for the grade 3-5 groups. Beyond that, this is considered a competitive activity, so experience is helpful.
- If rosters are full, Palmyra & Macedon residents will be given preference however residency is not a requirement to join. Full refunds will be given if an out of district player is removed due to roster size limitations.
- Most teams/players utilize their Summer Travel Soccer jerseys from Pal Mac Soccer Club for their indoor tournament participation. Indoor tournaments are far less strict about uniform codes (shorts and socks colors don't matter) BUT if your player does not have a PMSC jersey you will have an option to buy a similar jersey in the $20-$25 range. Information on this will be provided at a later date.
Program Fee covers:
- Use of equipment and facilities
- Secondary insurance, for claims above and beyond your primary insurance
- Costs associated with the Pal-Mac home tournament
EQUIPMENT YOU NEED TO BRING FOR PRACTICES/GAMES*
- sneakers or indoor soccer shoes
- shin guards
- exercise clothing such as a t-shirt and shorts. (At tournaments, often the teams will use their summer Pal Mac uniforms, but your child can wear a similarly colored outfit/shirt/jersey.)
*Thanks to the efforts of current Pal-Mac senior Zooey Graham we do have some donated equipment including shin guards, turf shoes & most importantly some flat indoor soccer sneakers. If you are unable to afford buying new gear, please email me with sizes to see if we can accommodate your player.
